“Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful”

W.T. Ellis

This festive season, as is my end of year custom on waysofthinking.co.uk, I have selected some of the most pertinent quotes from posts I wrote in 2023, along with some beautiful seasonal images.  I’ll also include some quotes I’ve put on Twitter, the ones which you have indicated you have liked the most.

I offer these quotes and images to provide food for thought at the end of this year. My wish is that you may see them as a gift, offered with love and good thoughts as the year draws to a close.

I hope those of you who celebrate it had a good Christmas, and that my posts may bring you some warmth, insight, hope, comfort and love….and, perhaps, some new Ways of Thinking to carry forward into the New Year.❤️

“Music, uniquely among the arts, is both completely abstract & profoundly emotional. It has no power to represent anything particular or external, but it has a unique power to express inner states or feelings. Music can pierce the heart directly; it needs no mediation.”

“Life is a process of becoming, a combination of states we have to go through. Where people fail is that they wish to elect a state and remain in it. This is a kind of death.”
